Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board Win!
After a hearing at the New Hampshire Department of Labor, Attorney Natalie Friedenthal won for her client an award of past-due wages, payment of medical bills, and a lump sum settlement payment.
This client worked as a Registered Nurse for the last nine years and as a Licensed Nursing Assistant for six years before that. While working her twelve-hour shift at a hospital here in New Hampshire, she felt pain in her back and was unable to return to work for several weeks. The workers’ compensation insurance carrier denied her claim, stating that work didn’t cause her back pain. Eventually, her doctors discovered that this client developed a herniated disc after years of working as a heavy-duty nurse. This disc was pushing on a nerve, causing severe pain. This client underwent surgery to correct the problem and has been back at work, pain-free ever since.
